I will help you cut through the noise to cultivate a peaceful relationship with food and body
Hi, my name is Delaney. I am so happy you are here.
I’m a Portland-based Registered Dietitian, Certified Personal Trainer and National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach who takes an integrative, weight-inclusive approach to care. I love helping you cut through the noise to cultivate a peaceful relationship with food and body, and find deeper health and healing.
My journey with nutrition, movement, and lifestyle medicine started at an early age. Since childhood, I’ve always loved moving my body. In high school, I fell in love with distance running and weight lifting but my energy started to plummet. I always had lower energy, but didn't understand why until I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, hypothyroidism, and severe anemia at age 17. After my diagnosis, I saw a Registered Dietitian to learn more about how to nourish myself when everything felt so hard and confusing. This experience led me to choose a major in Applied Exercise Science with the intention of earning my master’s in Nutrition from Bastyr University. In between pursuing my education and training, I discovered the world of health coaching. I immediately connected with coaching’s emphasis on intrinsic motivation and behavior change psychology, and my nutrition counseling style is deeply informed by this.
My background in integrative nutrition, exercise science and behavior change coaching enables me to practice using a truly whole-person approach. I understand how complicated it is to nourish ourselves amid a world full of conflicting nutrition advice. I believe you deserve access to evidence-based care that takes into thoughtful consideration your values, circumstances, goals, and unique health story.
I practice from a weight-neutral lens and work with people navigating a wide variety of health concerns, from complex digestive conditions to menopause and mental health challenges that affect relationship to food and body. For those who are interested, I also provide strength training guidance and can help you to establish joyful movement routines, as part of our nutrition work together.
Outside of work, I enjoy acting, writing, painting, film, comedy, travel, and adventuring outdoors. You can often find me on stage at various Portland-area theaters, holed up writing in coffee shops, spending time with friends and family, or planning my next trip to explore a new part of the world.
