NUTRITION STUDIO
Frequently Asked Questions
Establishing care with a new provider can feel vulnerable and overwhelming. If your questions still aren't answered, please reach out to me.
What is Intuitive Eating?
Intuitive Eating allows us to connect with our internal wisdom around nutrition choices. It offers the opportunity to feel more liberated in relationship to food and body. The journey of Intuitive Eating looks different for everyone, but in working with a dietitian, you can find a clear roadmap to being more in tune with hunger, fullness, satisfaction, joy and peace. What is Weight Neutral Care?
Weight Neutral Care is a philosophy that advocates for all people to have the same access to high quality care, regardless of body shape and size. You can be guaranteed in the work we do together that I will never stigmatize you because of your body shape and size. I will not recommend weight loss as a treatment modality, when many other healthcare practitioners have.
What is Personalized Nutrition Wellness?
I like to think of personalized nutrition wellness as a blueprint and road map of the work we do together. It is not a "cookie cutter" approach. Instead, it is an overarching nutrition plan that factors in your unique lifestyle, sleep patterns, health history, mental health, stress levels, movement patterns, food culture, relationship to body, time management, and more. Personalized nutrition wellness plans may include therapeutic food suggestions, supplement suggestions, meal plans, etc., and are based on information gathered throughout our work together.
How Long Should I Work With a Dietitian?
This really depends on what we are working on! I have some clients I have been working with for 5 years, and others I may only work with for 6 months. Each person has unique needs and after learning more about you at our first appointment, we can discuss frequency and duration.
Will You Work With My Care team?
Yes! As a matter of fact, I pride myself on being a clinician who deeply values integrative and holistic care. I advocate often for my clients to receive the best care. This means that I am very involved with your care team, if this is something that feels important to you. This might look like coordination of care, sharing of lab values, eating patterns, nutrition improvements, etc.
What is Trauma Informed Care?
Trauma informed care is a way of engaging with clients that acknowledges your lived experience. It is also understanding that while trauma absolutely impacts everyone, it disproportionally impacts marginalized groups. As a trauma informed provider, I think about our work together through the lens of mental health, coping strategies, previous and current trauma and how that impacts your nutrition and wellbeing. I create a space of trust, empowerment and collaboration with you.
Do You Take My Insurance?
In network with: Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Care Oregon, HMA, First Choice, Kaiser PPO, OHP, PacificSource, PacificSource Community Solutions, Premera, Regence and United Health Care

It is always the responsibility of the client to call their insurance and find out if I am in network, prior to scheduling an appointment.
What if I can't Pay for Your Services?
As someone who has lived in poverty, I will never let finances be a barrier to accessing quality care. I offer a private pay sliding scale rate based on need. Please call or email me to discuss this option.
What Ages Do You Work With?
I work with anyone who is medically stable and is 18+ years old. I also work with family systems to support children or teenagers who need nutritional support.
What is Medical Nutrition Therapy?
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) is an evidence based treatment modality used by Registered Dietitians and created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. MNT uses individualized and research driven approaches to treat health conditions.
Do you offer in person appointments?
