BIPOC affirming nutrition

Culturally Inclusive Care

What you eat tells a story about where you come from. Family traditions, staple foods from your childhood, cooking techniques passed down through generations, and personal preferences are essential to understand the choices you make about your food.

BIPOC communities face unique challenges when navigating their health and nutrition. Historically, nutrition guidance and diet culture has focused on non-minority perspectives, limiting access to culturally inclusive care. “Healthy” has often only reflected Eurocentric standards, failing to take into consideration diverse diets, cultural signifigance, different body types, historical context, and the systemic causes of health disparities.

Ayshia Ranjitsingh, RDN provides guidance that centers your lived experience, rather than Eurocentric ideologies perpetuated in American healthcare. You deserve more than a “one size fits all” approach to nutrition care. No code switching. No masking. Your cultural foods are important and should not be overlooked. You do not need to change your body size to appease the systems around you and recieve compassionate, evidence-based care. Food is deeply personal, and together we will create a nutrition plan that honors your health concerns, while celebrating your culture and lived experience.
